Board & Faculty

Board of Trustees:
It takes a huge commitment of time and energy to run a school like ours, and we have the volunteers to do it. Our Board of Trustees is comprised mostly of busy parents who are professionals, business people, entrepreneurs and community leaders and really care about the school. Our trustees are passionate about their common goal that it is a priority to teach Jewish children to be knowledgeable about Judaism, its traditions, practices and history, to love Israel, and to be the best academically. They meet regularly to oversee the general function of the school and take responsibility for its well being. Our school depends on the effort of its lay leadership to guide and support the work that goes on within its precious walls.

The Faculty
The faculty at SSA is beyond dedicated; they truly love their students as their own. There are many teachers in many schools who are dedicated to their students, but ours really take an active interest in the success and advancement of each and every one of their “kids”. Because of our unique village approach and our goal of keeping our student-teacher ratio low, teachers get to continuously participate in the growth and development of their students. It is common for students to feel deeply attached to their teachers, and for parents to form friendships and partnerships with teachers in the rearing of their children.

The major goal of Solomon Schechter Academy‘s faculty is to instill a positive sense of self-esteem in each student. A student who believes in himself/herself will be successful in his/her endeavors.
