About Us
Volunteers/Committees
SSA is a community of Jewish families who have made it a priority to provide their children with a Jewish education. These dedicated parents actually “walk the walk” of leadership, demonstrating to their children the importance of giving back. Everything outside of education that the school needs, from serving pizza to selling cheesecakes happens because of our team of devoted parents, giving our school that comfortable “family” feel.
PTA
Our PTA, through creative fundraising, provides special programs to enhance our engaging curriculum. PTA organizes our hot lunch offerings including pizza and ziti days. The Challah program is another endeavor offered by PTA as a fundraiser and as a service to families to enhance their Shabbat experience. Book fairs, gifts for teachers, speakers and special performers and programs, are among the projects they plan to supplement the curriculum and to keep our students motivated and excited to be at school. Parents who participate in PTA are a valuable part of the SSA family and find that they, too, make deep, long lasting friendships along with their children.
After School Enrichment
We know that many families have busy lives made difficult by the demands of today’s busy parents. With this in mind, we provide after-hours care that includes a healthy snack, homework guidance and some downtime with friends. This program is staffed by our faculty, giving them yet another occasion to continue the nurturing process. These arrangements can be accommodated on a regular or on an as-needed basis.
Clubs and Extracurricular Activities
Academics alone do not complete the needs of a growing mind and body. A variety of clubs and sports are offered at SSA depending on the interest of its students. We regularly offer basketball, flag football, drama productions, Spanish, art classes along with academic challenges like the Spelling Bee, the Geography Bee and the Academic bowl.
